The municipalities and county councils represent the basic entities of civil protection in Catalonia. But the public can also collaborate voluntarily and altruistically in this task through the civil protection volunteer association of Sant Cugat, created since 1987. These organizations are in charge of coordinate the selfless contribution of volunteers in civil protection tasks within the municipality, promote citizen participation in prevention issues or civil protection actions, raise awareness about the risks that may affect them, carry out training and outreach activities, support in the elaboration, implementation or maintenance of civil protection plans carried out by the relevant Administration.
There are currently about 25 permanent volunteers, but you can also be a one-time volunteer.
