State Awards for Social Volunteering

The Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality announces a new edition of the State Awards for Social Volunteering recognizing the voluntary action of individuals or legal entities, developed in situations of vulnerability, deprivation or lack of rights through volunteer programs that pretend:

  1. a) To promote equal opportunities and non-discrimination, and the search for social transformation.
    b) Achieve social improvement, both in people and in their environments.
A single prize will be awarded in each of the following categories:
a) Individual, for individuals.
b) Collective, for legal persons.

In addition to the previous awards, a special prize and / or honorable mention may also be awarded for each category.
Volunteers, national or foreign, who carry out their solidarity activity within entities of the Third Sector of Social Action, or in public or private entities that carry out volunteer programs in collaboration with the aforementioned social organizations of the Third Social Action Sector.

The entities of the Third Sector of Social Action, understanding as such, those organizations of private character that respond to criteria of solidarity, with aims of general interest and absence of profit motive, that promote the recognition and the exercise of the social rights.

a) Individuals: Recipients may be volunteers, national or foreign, who carry out their solidarity activity within entities of the Third Sector of Social Action, or in public or private entities that carry out volunteer programs in collaboration. with the aforementioned social organizations of the Third Sector of Social Action.

b) Collective: It will be able to reward to:
– Any entity in the Third Sector of Social Action, understanding as such, those organizations of a private nature that respond to criteria of solidarity, for purposes of general interest and non-profit, that promote the recognition and exercise of social rights.
– Public entities that develop volunteer programs aimed at the promotion, dissemination, promotion and recognition of social volunteering.
– Those programs of action or promotion of volunteering arising from the collaboration between entities of the Third Sector of Social Action and public and / or private entities, which meet the established characteristics

 

The prizes will consist of the delivery of allegorical medals of voluntary solidarity, and diplomas of recognition.
Applications may be submitted at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, Paseo del Prado 18-20, 28071 Madrid, as well as at the Central Government Delegations and Subdelegations.

Deadline for submitting applications Thirty working days from the day following the publication of this extract in the BOE.
