April 11 is World Parkinson’s Day and the Sant Cugat delegation of the Catalan Parkinson’s Association will celebrate it next Sunday, April 17 with the aim of bringing this disease closer to the public.
The activity will be from 11am to 2pm in Plaça Octavià. Citizens will be able to take part in the “Move for Parkinson’s” race / walk on a short circuit in the Monastery area.
In order to be a success, they need your collaboration as a volunteer, helping with dissemination and information tasks, preparing the different activities, encouraging and controlling public participation in these activities, collecting donations and others.
In the voice of Esteve Sala, president of the association, the reality of Parkinson’s is made known: “Parkinson’s is not just tremors. It is a disease that affects the person in a comprehensive way, which makes him lose autonomy and suffer from mobility, speech and emotional health problems, etc. Citizens need to be aware of this reality “ .
We are looking for people who are committed to the established schedule, communication skills, understanding and patience towards other people, attendance at the meeting prior to the activities and, above all, a great desire to have fun.
If you cannot participate as a volunteer, you can also take part in the race as a citizen.
