The Fundació Ajuda i Esperança is a non-profit organization of a canonical character in order to fulfill the objective of promoting, encouraging and supporting people who need it, through the urgent and immediate communication and guidance service. The Telefon de l’Esperança is a telephone service that works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It has several lines and is the foundation’s first project. Telephone numbers 93 414 48 48 always have a volunteer ready to listen and accompany the person who needs it.
People who want to volunteer will have to answer the calls that arrive on the telephone lines using different listening techniques.
Telephone support is provided from home, so living close to the organization’s headquarters is not a requirement to be able to join the volunteering.
A safe environment will be provided for both people who need help and volunteers. For this reason there are four requirements to be a scout:
- Be over 25 years old.
- Have a very good understanding of Catalan and Spanish.
- Live a moment of emotional stability.
- Have 10 hours a month to devote to listening to others
