The Sant Cugat City Council collaborates with the Catalan Sports Federation of Cerebral Palsy (FECPC) in the organization of CP World Games in August next year. The council thus reaffirms its commitment to inclusive sport by hosting one of the most important sports competitions for athletes with cerebral palsy.

The CP World Games 2018 will be held from 5 to 16 August in different sports venues in the city, such as the High Performance Center (CAR), the municipal sports area of La Guinardera or the area or the Rambla del Celler. The competition will bring together athletes, coaches, attendees, family members, fans and volunteers from around the world.

The figure of the volunteer it will be again essential for the realization of a sporting event of such magnitude. The World Games will require about 300 volunteers , approximately, to cover different areas such as transport and logistics, press and communication, attention and information, merchandising or sports area. All people over the age of 16 will be able to participate in the games as volunteers to enjoy a unique experience.

The CP World Games in Sant Cugat

The World Games for Athletes with Cerebral Palsy will raise the curtain on Sunday, August 5, 2018 with the opening ceremony. The competition will start the next day with Athletics, the Race Running, Swimming and Football. The latter will be the longest, until Thursday 16, closing the games.

The World Games will feature 8 different sports, divided into two categories: “ sports “And” sports in development ”. In the first category there will be the Athletics , el Race Running the Football , el Taekwondo and the swimming ; while in developing sports we will find the Bowling , el Women’s Soccer , el Table Tennis and the Wheelchair slalom . The modalities in “ development ”Will enjoy technical days with specialists from around the world, prior to the days of competition.

The one in Sant Cugat will be the thirteenth edition of the CP World Games , organized by the International Association of Sports and Leisure of Cerebral Palsy (CPISRA), an event aimed at helping the development of athletes for future high-level competitions such as the Paralympic Games.
